Andrew Griffiths

Originally from Sheffield, Andrew trained at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where he specialised in composition.

Musical Director credits include: A Dream (Sheffield Theatres). As Assistant Musical Director: UK and Ireland tours of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Evita (Bill Kenwright), Legally Blonde (also orchestrations), South Pacific and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (UK Productions)

Further instrumentalist credits include: Singin’ In The Rain, Legally Blonde (Kilworth House Theatre), Oliver! (Sheffield Theatres), Scrooge at the London Palladium (Bill Kenwright), and the UK Tour of the Lincoln Centre revival of South Pacific, Annie Get Your Gun (rehearsal pianist, Sheffield Theatres). Andrew is regularly employed as a répétiteur and rehearsal pianist by Opera North.

Andrew provided original music and sound design for Can’t Stand Up For Falling Down at the Lantern Theatre in Sheffield, orchestrations for Rockin’ Horses headlined by Michael Ball at London’s playhouse theatre, and musical preparation for This Is My Family at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. His critical performing edition of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience was recently performed by English Touring Opera on their recent UK tour.
