Kenan Ali

Kenan originally trained as an actor before turning his attention to the art of stage combat, as both tutor and fight director, over the last fifteen years. He is a dedicated martial artist with more than thirty years experience across many styles and disciplines. Kenan is also a qualified fencing coach through the British Academy of Fencing and is now an Equity Registered Fight Director, one of a very small number of such professionals in the U.K.

Recent theatre credits include Songs From the Seven Hills, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Standing at the Sky’s Edge (Sheffield Theatres), Queen Margaret, Death of a Salesman, The Producers and Mother Courage and her Children (Royal Exchange, Manchester). Also, Jungle Book (Derby Theatre) Noughts & Crosses (Pilot Theatre) and Aladdin (Selladoor Worldwide) Romeo & Juliet (Moving Stories). Recent film credits include the short film Girl Alone (directed by Keith Farrell) and new feature film Blank (starring Rachel Shelley and Heida Reed).
