Sam Coates

Sam is a musical director, pianist and arranger. He gained a BMus (Hons) in Creative Music Technology at the University Of Surrey, before spending a year on the MD Mentorship Scheme at The MTA in London. Sam also studied jazz piano at Birmingham Conservatoire.

Currently, he is a regular tutor and MD at Italia Conti Academy and Italia Conti Arts Centre and has just finished a 5th pantomime season for UK Productions at Blackpool Grand Theatre, as musical director and arranger for Peter Pan.

Sam is a deputy keyboard player for internationally renowned classical crossover violinist Vanessa Mae, has toured the UK with Clem Burke (drummer for Blondie), and recently played deputy keyboards on Club Tropicana (UK Tour) and Flashdance (UK Tour).
